MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops” –Henry Adams
Teachers have a huge affect on a child’s life. Teachers influence a child’s development and provide a foundation for learning. Early education is extremely important for development. The early years are a time when a child begins to discover and form a sense of self-worth. My classroom is welcoming and loving. I make sure each child feels special. I create a positive classroom learning environment. If I need to accommodate a child, I will make sure I have the tools, skills, and knowledge, to do so. I make each learning process a positive one. I believe it is very important to work with every child one on one. Student success is very important to me.
My lessons are child centered. I strive to create activities based on the interest of the child. Well planned curriculum is crucial to early childhood education. My lessons plans are a balance of hands on activities, visual activities, and sensory activities. My belief is that children learn best though play. Therefore, even when we are not involved in a formal lesson the children are still learning. Whether it is me asking children about their play, or about the activity they are involved in. In my classroom, we sing, dance, and read books together.
The goal of an early childhood educator is to help children develop lifelong skills. I strive to instill a love of learning in the children I teach. Teachers touch a young child’s life in many different ways. It is my goal to influence and inspire every student I teach.
